Employee Volunteerism. Through 'NEC Makes a Difference' Program, NSP has fostered Employee Volunteerism that goes a long way involving fruitful activities and garnering awards along the way. In 2006, NSP employees sponsored one housing unit for the under privileged thru Gawad Kalinga Housing Program. NSP also became a recipient of an award from the local government of Cebu City for its invaluable contribution to the development of Cebu, in providing employment to hundreds of Cebuanos that directly resulted in the unprecedented growth of Cebu's economy on February 2003 and through its commendable efforts and outstanding achievement in community service, it received the MDD Best Practice Award in 2001 and 2003 from NEC Corporation in Japan.
